Born in 1962, Vanita Comissiong began painting in the early 1990s. Inspired by Haitian artists and their use of bold colours and busy canvases, she endeavours to capture the sights and characters of her native Barbados.
Her artwork is available exclusively at the On The Wall art gallery at Champers and The Grove Gallery at Limegrove. She has also branded herself through the production of the sought-after “Very Vanita” range of gift products, available at Barbados with Love, Limegrove.
She continues to evolve and experiment with new themes and techniques, intricately weaving in ideals of love and spirituality.
