Henderson Reece is well-known among art lovers for his fresh, vibrant and cheery batik creations, and excels at capturing familiar local scenes and iconic elements in this globally-treasured medium. Mainly self-taught, Henderson’s work can be found in collections in Europe, America and the Caribbean.
Inspired by his passion and craftsmanship, so many people asked Henderson about the possibility of learning to make batik themselves, that he began offering workshops.
A day under his tutelage is BB$400 (US$200) per person, including all materials and lunch. His protégés-for-a-day leave with a batik of their own design, which they often mount and frame for their homes.
A wide variety of his work is sold at his studio at Earthworks.
