A Half Day That Changes Your Life!
The Discover Scuba Diving course gets divers in the water and on a dive on the first day! Your first lesson starts with a pool session (approx. 1 hr), where new divers are introduced to their equipment and taught a few basic skills and exercises to build confidence.
After this, it’s off to the Marine Park for your first dive. The next hour is spent getting comfortable and getting below the surface. The Carlisle Bay Marine Reserve is perfect for first time divers – no current, no waves and once you choose your comfort zone, whether it’s 2 feet below or 40 feet below, there is more marine life to see than you have eyes for! One of the highlights of a dive with the guys at West Side Scuba is feeding the Southern Stingrays in Carlisle Bay. Divers can also join the dive team on their Lionfish Derbies and support the lionfish culling programme which helps keep this invasive species under control.
PADI Global Ambassador for Change
Barbados Blue was recently honoured with the well-deserved PADI Global Ambassador for Change award. This PADI 5-star Dive Centre, located at the Hilton, is a PADI Project Aware Coral Watch Dive Operator, regularly monitoring coral reefs and submitting data to provide critical information on coral bleaching, and other ecological issues.
In addition to their beginner and advanced dive courses, they also offer PADI Coral First Aid courses and can get you PADI certified in just 4 dives! Beginner PADI Certification Courses are valid all over the world and once you keep diving they never expire!
