Personal recommendations are always best. Lisa, a villa rental specialist with a home in Barbados, shares her favourites for you to consider on your next stay.
Created by legendary designer Oliver Messel in the 1960s and completely restored in 2014, Crystal Springs’ elegant facade, stylish decor and breath-taking views provide a magical, theatrical ambiance for those lucky enough to stay here. With a staff of 14, it is more like a boutique hotel with a multitude of living spaces, three al fresco dining areas and 10 luxurious guest rooms. Crystal Springs is an ideal villa for large groups or extended families looking for a private holiday retreat.
Moon Dance is a stunning private residence set in almost two acres of beautifully landscaped gardens at the heart of the Sandy Lane Estate. The villa offers total privacy in a very quiet location, but a short walk soon brings you to the busier Sandy Lane property owners’ private beach club which is very popular with guests. Back at the villa, the staff look after your every need, and we can certainly vouch for Catherine’s cooking which is wonderful.
Ideally situated, in extensive gardens and with a long frontage along the wonderful Gibbs beach, La Lune is simply the perfect beach house. This two-bedroomed property is the epitome of barefoot luxury: with drinks in hand and toes in the sand, there couldn’t be a better spot on the island to relax and unwind. This is one of our favourite rental properties on one of our favourite beaches. Do stay here if you can.
