Jazz Evening with Daniel Harvey

The Barbados Jazz Society presents an evening of Jazz with Daniel Harvey.
Daniel is a 20-year-old saxophonist who is enthusiastic about music performance, production and arranging. His fondness for music began at the age of nine with the piano, but his fascination with the saxophone stemmed from his attendance at the Waterford Music and Cultural Society (WMCS) Summer Camp, when he decided he desired to learn the instrument after admiring some of his friends who played the saxophone.
In 2019, at the Barbados Jazz Excursion, Harvey was selected to shared the stage alongside the Nicholas Brancker Band and Elan Trotman. He has subsequently performed with some of Barbados' greatest musicians and artists such as Roger Gittens, John Roett, Mikey Mercer, John Yarde and many more.
Harvey graduated from Harrison college to pursue music at the Barbados Community College, and holds an associate's degree in music and is now presently pursuing a bachelor's degree in music at the University of the West Indies.
In October of 2022, Harvey became the first winner of the Head Start Music’s Scholarship to Berklee College of music.
Over the summer of 2023 he attended the Berklee summer program and was then accepted into their undergraduate program. Harvey aims to use every opportunity to help to achieve his goal of becoming one of the greatest saxophonist in history.
