Carlisle Bay

A stunning, long, wide crescent of powdery white sand stretching from Bridgetown to the Hilton Hotel- over a mile - with a wide beach and calm water. Carlisle Bay is home to the Carlisle Bay Marine Reserve, a haven for snorkelers and beginner scuba divers, with seven amazing shipwrecks and an abundance of marine life. There is good snorkelling but be sure to have a colourful marker whenever you snorkel to alert watercraft of your presence. The nearby Hazell’s Waterworld on Bay Street sells good quality snorkelling gear and scuba diving equipment.

A variety of watersports and turtle tours are available, as well as the hugely popular hydro flight jet packs from Jetblade Barbados. Umbrellas and sun loungers are available for rent at Harbour Lights and Lobster Alive along with drinks and food – sit with your toes in the sand and devour a freshly cooked lobster!
